Grounding (Earthing) Systems and Ground Rod Installation

Grounding (or Earthing depending on which part of the world you are in) is the most important component of an electric fence and is most common cause of poorly functioning fences. In order for the hot wires on your fence to deliver an effective shock, the current has to be able to complete the circuit through the ground rods and flow back to the energizer. Without a properly functioning grounding system, your livestock will not receive the full shock that your energizer is capable of delivering. In this video, we cover the types of materials to use in your grounding system including ground rods, insulated hookup wire, deciding how many ground rods you need, where to place ground rods and how to connect them to each other and to the fence with lots of helpful tips and tricks along the way.
